【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedforuseasaguideincaseswhereanexperimentaldeterminationofheatofcombustionisnotavailableandcannotbemadeconveniently,andwhereanestimateisconsideredsatisfactory.Itisnotintendedasasubstituteforexperimentalmeasurementsofheatofcombustion(Note2).Note28212;TheproceduresfortheexperimentaldeterminationofthegrossandnetheatsofcombustionaredescribedinTestMethodsD240andD4809.Thenetheatofcombustionisafactorintheperformanceofallaviationfuels.Becausetheexhaustofaircraftenginescontainsuncondensedwatervapors,theenergyreleasedbyfuelinvaporizingwatercannotberecoveredandmustbesubtractedfromgrossheatofcombustiondeterminationstocalculatenetheatofcombustion.Forhighperformanceweight-limitedaircraft,thenetheatofcombustionperunitmassandthemassoffuelloadeddeterminethetotalsaferange.Theproperoperationoftheaircraftenginealsorequiresacertainminimumnetenergyofcombustionperunitvolumeoffueldelivered.Becausetheheatofcombustionofhydrocarbonfuel-mixturesareslowlyvaryingfunctionsofthephysicalpropertiesofthemixtures,theheatofcombustionofthemixturescanoftenbeestimatedwithadequateaccuracyfromsimplefieldtestsofdensityandanilinepointtemperature,withouttheelaborateapparatusneededforcalorimetry.Theempiricalquadraticequationforthenetheatofcombustionofasulfur-freefuelwasderivedbythemethodofleastsquaresfromaccuratemeasurementsonfuels,mostofwhichconformedtospecificationsforfuelsfoundinNote1andwerechosentocoverarangeofvaluesofproperties.Thosefuelsnotmeetingspecificationswerechosentoextendtherangeofdensitiesandaniline-pointtemperaturesaboveandbelowthespecificationlimitstoavoidendeffects.Thesulfurcorrectionwasfoundbyasimultaneousleast-squaresregressionanalysisofsulfur-containingfuelsamongthosetested.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheestimationofthenetheatofcombustionatconstantpressureinmetric(SI)units,megajoulesperkilogram.1.2Thistestmethodispurelyempirical,anditisapplicableonlytoliquidhydrocarbonfuelsderivedbynormalrefiningprocessesfromconventionalcrudeoilwhichconformtotherequirementsofspecificationsforaviationgasolinesoraircraftturbineandjetenginefuelsoflimitedboilingrangesandcompositionsasdescribedinNote1.Note18212;Theestimationofthenetheatofcombustionofahydrocarbonfuelfromitsanilinepointtemperatureanddensityisjustifiableonlywhenthefuelbelongstoawell-definedclassforwhicharelationshipbetweenthesequantitieshasbeenderivedfromaccurateexperimentalmeasurementsonrepresentativesamplesofthatclass.Eveninthisclass,thepossibilitythattheestimatescanbeinerrorbylargeamountsforindividualfuelsshouldberecognized.TheJP-8fuel,althoughnotexperimentallytested,haspropertiessimilartoJP-5andJetAfuelsandcanbeconsideredinthesameclass.Theclassesoffuelsusedtoestablishthecorrelationpresentedinthistestmethodarerepresentedbythefollowingapplications:1.3ThenetheatofcombustioncanalsobeestimatedbyTestMethodD1405.TestMethodD1405requirescalculationofoneoffourequationsdependentonthefueltypewiththeprecisionequivalenttothatofthistestmethod.1.4Thevaluesstatedinacceptablemetricunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestab......
