【摘要】:TheobjectiveofthispracticeistoprovideproceduresforestimatingemissionprofilesofVOCsfrombeddingsets.TheseprofilescanthenbeusedtoestimatehumaninhalationexposurestoVOCsemittedfrombeddingsets.Theestimatedinhalationexposuresultimatelycanbeusedasaninputtocharacterizationofhealthrisksfromshortx2013;termVOCexposures.Theresultsofemissionstestingforspecificrawmaterialsandcomponents,orprocessesusedinmanufacturingdifferentbeddingsets,canbeusedtocomparetheirrelativeimpactsonairborneconcentrations.1.1Thispracticecoverstheproceduresforestimatingemissionprofilesofvolatileorganicchemicals(VOCs)frombeddingsetswhenanewbeddingsetisfirstbroughtintoahouse,basedonemissionstestinginenvironmentalchambers.1.2Emissionprofilesfrombeddingsetsaredeterminedfromairconcentrationsmeasuredinenvironmentalchambers.1.3VOCemissionsfrombeddingsets,asinthecaseofotherhouseholdfurnishings,usuallyarehighestwhentheproductsarenew.Proceduresdescribedinthispracticealsoareapplicabletousedbeddingsets.1.4ThepracticeisapplicabletoVOCsandnottosemi-volatileorganicchemicalsornonvolatileorganicchemicals.1.5Thispracticesummarizesproceduresforsampleselectionandhandling.Thispracticealsoreferstopertinentsamplingproceduresandanalyticalmethodsforemissiontesting,butdoesnotincludetechnicaldetailsonselectionofappropriatecollectionmediaandanalyticalmethodsoronsamplingandanalyticalequipmentandassociatedprocedures.1.6EmissionprofilesbasedonthispracticemaybeusedforestimatinghumanexposurestoVOCs.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatinglimitationspriortoitsuse.
