【摘要】:Theobjectiveofthisguideistoprovideguidancefortheplacementanduseofpassivemonitorsthatwhenuniformlyappliedenablestheusertoeliminatemanyinterferencesinthesamplingofindoorair.Sincetheanalysisoftheindoorenvironmentbypassiveairmonitorsisinfluencedbymanyfactorsotherthanthemethodofsampling,effortsaremadetominimizeinterferingfactorsandmaintaintheairatconditionstypicalofthemeasurementlocationwithinthevicinityofthepassiveairmonitor.However,whenperformingdiagnosticorspecialmeasurements,non-typicalindoorairenvironmentconditionsmaybedesirableorrequired.Thus,theobjectivesofasamplingstudymaydeterminetheconditionsneededforsampling.Passivesamplingprovidesfortimeintegratedmeasurements.Passivemonitorsareusuallyplacedinanindoorenvironmentoveratimeperiodtoobtainacumulativesample;hence,interferingfactorsshouldbeanticipatedandeliminatedwherepossible.Passivemonitorsoftenlackthesensitivitytomeasureshort-termpeakconcentrations.Withsuitableinstructionregardingplacementofpassivemonitors,placementandretrievalofthemonitorscanbeperformedbyunskilledpersonnel(forexample,occupants).1.1Thisguidecoverstheplacementanduseofdiffusioncontrolledmonitorsintheindooratmosphere.1.2Diffusioncontrolledpassivemonitorswithinthisguideincludebothareaandpersonalmonitorsforuseinresidences,publicbuildings,offices,andothernon-industrialworkplacesanddwellingenvironments.ApassivemonitorisanyairmonitorthatdoesnotutilizeelectricalormechanicalpowerinordertosupplyairtothesorbentmediaorchemicalreactantwithinthemonitorandsampleaccordingtoFick'sfirstlawofdiffusion.1.3Thepurposeofthisguideistoensureuniformityofsamplingwithinavarietyofindoorenvironmentsandtofacilitatecomparisonofresults.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
